Why first-timers feel comfortable here

We choose the best conditions for the day

Your lesson is planned around the actual wind and waves, so your first session feels safer, calmer, and easier to enjoy.

A first lesson that feels clear, not chaotic

You start with simple basics on the beach, then move into the water with support, feedback, and time to understand what you’re doing.

Safety is explained from the start

We show you how to handle the board, move through the waves, protect yourself in a wipeout, and stay aware around other surfers.

What students say after their first lesson

Here’s a look at what people are saying about working with us. We’re proud to have helped so many achieve their goals.

Nik is an amazing instructor and a genuinely great person. I had already taken lessons at another school, but I understood more in one session with Nik than in several previous lessons.
He doesn’t just explain technique well — he truly lives and loves surfing. With him, you start to understand the water, the waves, the wind, and what is happening around you in the ocean.
If you want to really begin understanding surfing, I highly recommend learning with Nik.

Vsevolod

I booked a private lesson with Nik after trying to surf on my own for two seasons. I could catch waves, but my take-off still felt inconsistent and a bit like luck. Nik explained everything calmly, noticed the small mistakes, and gave clear corrections in the water. By the end of the lesson, we had fixed my take-off and basic stance, which made my starts and rides much more stable.
I’ve had lessons with other instructors before, but no one paid this much attention to detail. Highly recommend.

Sergei

I’m really happy with the result of the session. We figured out what I needed to work on before entering the water, went in with a clear plan, and that plan worked. I’ve been surfing for more than two years and had lessons with several instructors before, but Nik was the first to break my mistakes down clearly and give me specific exercises to fix them. I didn’t expect such a strong result from one session. It felt like I finally moved past the plateau I had been stuck on, and I definitely plan to continue training.

What your first lesson looks like

If it’s your first time surfing in Da Nang, knowing how the lesson works makes the whole experience easier and calmer. We start on the beach, go step by step, and give you time to understand each part before moving on.

We choose the best spot for the day

The meeting point depends on the wind and wave conditions. If the location changes, it’s to give you a cleaner, safer setup for a first lesson.

30 min before start

We meet, get you set up, and talk through the session

You meet your instructor, get your board, and go over how the lesson works. You can ask questions before anything starts.

5 min

We cover the safety basics first

You learn how to hold the board, how to get through the shorebreak, what to do when you fall, how to protect your head, and how to stay clear of other surfers and currents.

10 min

We practise on the sand

Before the water, you go through paddling position, pop-up, stance, and balance on land. This makes the first part in the water much easier to follow.

10 min

Then we go into the water

You start with simple exercises, get used to the board, and begin working with whitewater. The instructor helps with positioning, timing, and small corrections as you go.

30–40 min

You leave with a real first result

For most beginners, that means a few short rides on the foam or a small wave, plus a much clearer feel for paddling, standing up, and balance.

40–50 min
Most first lessons last around 1.5–2 hours. If the waves are too weak or the conditions are messy, the lesson is moved rather than forced.
Before your lesson

What to bring to your lesson

You don’t need much for your first session. Bring sun protection for exposed skin, swimwear, and a towel. Zinc on the face works well.
